Hulk Hogan on Gulf Oil Spill: Worried, Helpless

Hulk Hogan has squared off against numerous foes inside the wrestling ring, but not even Andre the Giant presented the sort of challenge he and other Gulf Coast residents are facing these days.

Asked about the effects of the BP oil spill on his Clearwater Beach property, Hogan told Life & Style this week:

"No one can give us a straight answer. Now that it's hurricane season, the big unknowns are coming at us. How far is the oil going to spread? Is it going to push way up on the land?"

The Hulkster shares that residence with fiancé Jennifer McDaniel.

Let me tell you something, Mean Gene: BP sucks!

Hogan says his house hasn't been directly affected, but the same can't be said for the surrounding area.

"The local economy depends on tourism. All of a sudden the tourists aren't here. And I've seen the price of [seafood] skyrocketing, because we depend on most of the grouper and the shrimp."

The Hulkster says he isn't "trying to blame anybody, but "we feel helpless, because we don't even know who to go to! We just want to be on the same team again cleaning it up."

Hogan should speak to Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder. That actor has been more active than anyone in the region, doing all he can to bring attention and assistance to the ravaged coast. (thehollywoodgossip)
