Gary Shirley has, by his own admission, talked hella $h!t about Amber Portwood. But that doesn't mean YOU can, the rotund one stated Thursday.

The Teen Mom star has taken quite the beating in the press thanks to Gary's remarks and leaked phone calls. Now he wants her to be left alone.

Seriously. As he told TMZ, there's still a chance they'll hook up again and he doesn't want to hurt those chances. Besides, she's a "good girl" ...

"I've said a lot of s**t because I am mad," admits Gary Shirley, the father of baby Leah. "But if anyone else wants to come up and talk s**t about Amber I won't let it happen because she is a good girl, and she's my baby mama."

Indeed she is. Gar then sounded like a textbook spousal abuse victim, adding "I am fine with the fact that Amber hit me because she has gotten all the help that she needs. Ever since that she hasn't put her hands on me."

On a poignant, optimistic note, he concludes, "When the [restraining order] is lifted ... if she's single and I'm single, I'm sure we will try our relationship."

The Sept 28 episode of Teen Mom in which Amber Portwood punches, kicks, and verbally abuses her baby’s father Gary Shirley in front of daughter Leah is simply what happens behind closed doors all over the world every day.  We usually don’t see it because most people calm themselves down when others are watching.  

But Amber darling is a special case not allowing the presence of cameras to affect her out-of-control abusive behaviour.  To think that there is anything special about what was aired by MTV is to pretend that what we saw was rare.  It is not, especially the verbal and emotional abuse hurled by Amber at her hapless ex-fiance.

So that is it.  No point making a big issue out of this case.  People are not going to change anytime soon and the pressures of life reacting with our genetic propensity towards anger and violence (we are 99.5% chimpanzee) insure that what we saw on Teen Mom will remain a common occurrence.  Not that we shouldn’t try to control our worst urges – we should – but at the same time recognize that for many of us, self-control remains out of reach.  (celebdirtylaundry)

Teen Mom Amber Portwood Didn’t Date A Sex Offender

Teen Mom star Amber Portwood was recently said to be dating a convicted sex offender by the name of Chris.

On a recent episode of the MTV show, Amber and Chris went on a date together to Three Pigs Restaurant and Lounge in Anderson, Indiana. During the show, Amber asked about his past, to which he replied, “Well, I got into trouble and I got caught and they put me on work release. It’s like a jail where you get to go out and work and you have to go back.”

That sparked rumors that the Chris in the show was actually Christopher Glenn Hossman, a registered sex offender in the county.

While both men look similiar, a source tells RadarOnline.com that they are NOT the same person.

Hossman’s former girlfriend also confirmed to RadarOnline.com that the man featured in the episode of Teen Mom was not Hossman. The girlfriend – who only wanted to be identified as “Brenda” also told us that they have consulted a lawyer after he was named as the boyfriend of Portwood.

His girlfriend told RadarOnline.com: “I watch Teen Mom and I knew that it was not my boyfriend. We had been dating for over a year and just split-up a few weeks ago. He had been staying at my home with my four kids who are aged between seven and twenty-two. The authorities knew that he was staying here and he was always up-front with me about his record and I trusted him fully around my family. My Chris is a roofer and we split up over fights about money because the economy is so bad but he never did anything bad around my kids.

She continued, “He only has one tattoo on his upper left arm with the letters ‘CJH’ whereas the guy on the show with Amber had other tattoos – I knew straight away it was not him it is just ridiculous to say it was. We are handing the matter over to my lawyer now because it is not right to name him like that when it is not him and we want this corrected. When he told me his side of the story about his conviction I believed him because I know a lot of people are wrongly convicted of all kinds of crimes. I’m not sure if we will get back together or not though – we’ll just have to wait and see.”

I’m not really sure what a lawyer can do over a case of mistaken identity like this, but people will do anything once they get dollar signs in their eyes.

Either way, it’s good that Amber doesn’t have a sex offender around her young daughter.
