Foxy Brown 'avoids jail time'

Foxy Brown has avoided a jail sentence following an altercation with a neighbour.

The rapper was recently charged with criminal contempt after violating Arlene Raymond's order of protection by screaming and baring her buttocks while shouting obscenities.

She faced up to seven years in prison for the offence but was cleared on Tuesday at Brooklyn Criminal Court of all but one charge of misdemeanour criminal contempt, reports the New York Daily News.

"I'm so happy, I'm just very happy," she said after hearing the judge's decision.

"Never once did I worry about this."

Brown may still face a community service sentence if found guilty of the misdemeanour. (taheena)

Foxy Brown Charged With Public Lewdness

starpulse.com - Rapper Foxy Brown has been charged with public lewdness and harassment after allegedly violating a protection order banning her from approaching a neighbor in her native New York.

The hip-hop star, real name Inga Marchand, was arrested on Wednesday  following a reported confrontation with a local resident. Brown is accused of yelling at the neighbor, breaching one of the terms of the official order, before allegedly bending over and baring her bottom at her rival, reports TMZ.com.

According to the police complaint, obtained by the website, Brown reportedly screamed, "You dirty b**ch... what are you looking at?" and then "bent over and thrust (her) buttocks at the (neighbour) while shouting... 'kiss my a**'." The rapper has now been hit with the two charges, in addition to one count of criminal contempt.

However, Brown's lawyer Bernadette Brennan has blasted the allegations, insisting it was the neighbor who approached the rapper first after seeing her rehearsing for a show outside their properties.

Brennan told TMZ.com her client ignored the screaming neighbor and then went inside her building to avoid any further confrontation. Brown is being held on $5,000  bail.

Here's hoping Foxy Brown knew that she didn't need to be arrested this week to be a contender in our Miss Behind-Bars Pageant.

While it was her previous stint in the pokey that won her a spot, the fierce little hip-hopper was busted Wednesday for allegedly violating an order of protection that stipulated she couldn't get too close to a neighbor she was accused of throwing a BlackBerry at in 2007.

"Bitch, what are you looking at? What the f--k are you looking at?" Brown yelled at Arlene Raymond when their paths crossed today in Brooklyn's Prospect Heights neighborhood, according to the New York Daily News.


Raymond, who unsuccessfully sued Brown (real name Inga Marchand) for assault and harassment, then called the cops.

Brown was arrested and booked on suspicion of criminal contempt, a class E felony, for violating the protection order. Her rep hasn't yet responded to requests for comment.

The 31-year-old rapper spent roughly seven months in jail for violating her probation multiple times after copping to assaulting a pair of NYC manicurists in 2004.

Brown pleaded guilty to menacing with regard to the dumb smart-phone incident with her neighbor and was sentenced to time served. Raymond was granted a restraining order. (eonline.com)
